Boomer Hears the Forest Arrives August 4...

There are few things more exciting than welcoming a new book into the world, and I am thrilled to share that Boomer Hears the Forest: Boomer the Curious Bunny Book II will be released on August 4.

Watching this story grow from an idea into a finished book has been a wonderful journey, and I couldn't have done it without the incredible team at Plum Creek Press. Their care, creativity, and encouragement helped bring Boomer's latest adventure to life, and I am truly grateful for all they have done.

This new story invites young readers to step into the forest alongside Boomer, where curiosity leads to discovery and every new sound, sight, and friendship becomes part of the adventure. I hope children and families enjoy exploring the forest through Boomer's eyes just as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Even before publication day, the book has already received its very first review, and reading those kind words has made this launch even more special.

Bricks of Warmth Continues to Touch Hearts

One of the greatest joys of writing is discovering that a story continues to resonate long after you've shared it.

This summer, Bricks of Warmth was featured in two magazines, giving even more readers the opportunity to discover the remarkable story of my great-grandmother and the act of kindness that helped save a life.

Family stories have always inspired me. They remind us that courage often appears in quiet moments and that compassion can echo through generations. It has been incredibly meaningful to see this story shared with new audiences through She Rises Studio Magazine and She Wins Magazine (page 59 & 60).

If you haven't read it yet, I hope you'll take a few moments to discover this special piece of family history. Read Bricks of Warmth

    Helping Writers Find Their Voice

One question I'm asked more than almost any other is, "How do I become an author?"

The wonderful thing about writing is that every author begins exactly the same way, with one idea and the courage to write the first sentence.

That's why I enjoy sharing what I've learned along my own journey. This summer I had the opportunity to write articles including So You Want To Be An Author and Marketing Tips for Authors, offering practical advice for aspiring writers taking their first steps into publishing.

Whether you're writing your first picture book or finally beginning the story that's been in your heart for years, I hope these articles encourage you to keep writing.

    Conversations That Inspire

One of my favourite parts of being an author is connecting with readers through conversations.

This summer I've been fortunate to appear in interviews, magazines and podcasts where I've shared my writing journey, the inspiration behind my books and my love of storytelling.

If you've ever wondered how my stories begin, what inspires my characters or what life is like as a children's author, I invite you to explore these recent conversations. From the CJ Money Way Show to features in The Scoop Magazine, Success Savvy Magazine, H.A.N.N.A. Magazine and my She Rises interview, each conversation offers another glimpse behind the pages.

I'm also excited to share that I'll be one of the guest authors at the RV Bookfair 2026, and I'll have more details very soon.

    A Little Light of Hope

    Have you discovered Substack yet?

It's become one of my favourite places to write because it allows authors, artists, educators and creators to share ideas, encouragement and inspiration in a thoughtful community.

Every Tuesday I publish a new article on my Substack, A Little Light of Hope, where I share reflections on kindness, creativity, storytelling and the everyday moments that inspire me. Some weeks I write about writing. Other weeks it's simply a thought or experience that I hope brings a little encouragement to your day.

I'd love for you to join me there and become part of our growing community.

Till next time – Embrace Imagination... !
