Volunteering
Summer is an opportunity for family fun, free time to play, read, and to become a volunteer. Here are a few suggestions that hopefully will inspire you to think of one or select one that you will enjoy doing. Volunteering without too much time commitment:
- USO
- Big Brother and Sister
- Your local hospital
- Take your talents to a near by nursing home, singing, reading, sewing, piano etc.
- Macy’s Miracles
What ever you do I am sure you will make a difference in someone’s life as well as your own.
School Visits
I was in two delightful schools this month with various grades. One young man said to me, “You are so lucky you were able to see a real blue moon!” I love the picture of the blue moon! Others hugged me and told me how they wanted to write and read to kids in school too. How lucky I am to experience first hand the students reactions to my books.
